As B&G’s Technical Manager, I’m primarily responsible for

• Designing bespoke cleaning systems, alongside the Technical Director
• Assisting the service team with complex technical problems
• Providing front line support for all cleaning equipment hire enquiries
• Servicing B&G’s Multipump systems
• Commissioning of new pressure washers and other equipment
• Sales of pure water cleaning systems
• Deputy Manager at the Marchington Depot

Experience and specialist areas

I’ve worked in the cleaning equipment industry for over 30 years, and have been with B&G for around 20 years. I’ve picked up a lot of technical knowledge and experience in that time and am able to resolve problems with any type of commercial cleaning equipment. B&G is a great place to work, with a great team of professionals who support each other and have a strong customer service ethic.

I’m involved in the build of B&G Multipump cleaning systems (CIP systems) which are individually designed and configured to meet customers’ exact requirements. When designed well, these systems can make a massive difference to production efficiency, particularly in the food industry.

I also test new equipment from our suppliers, to understand how new commercial cleaning machines have been designed and how they operate, to help the sales team to know which types of machine to recommend for different cleaning needs.

Cleaning equipment hire – help and advice

Quite often, customers wanting to hire a machine aren’t quite sure what they need, they just know what they want to clean. That’s no problem at all! When you make a hire enquiry with B&G, we will ask you about the cleaning job you want to complete, advise you on the most suitable machine to meet your needs, then put the arrangements in place for you.

I work closely with the Service Engineer team to ensure that when we hire machines out, they are in good working order, are ready for collection / delivery on time and, most importantly, will do the job effectively. We always let customers know how to operate the machines and can also supply detergents or chemicals if required.

We have a comprehensive range of robust cleaning machines on our hire fleet, all of which are tried and tested by us, and we expand our range on a regular basis, based on what customers are looking to hire.

Things I’m proud of

Designing and modifying equipment to create something new, or a machine which will perform a specific type of cleaning. For example I recently worked with Ian Hodkinson to develop the “Red Mist” super-heated pressure washer, designed for cleaning delicate surfaces and masonry. This machine is now available on our hire fleet and is proving to be extremely effective.
